Author Spotlight: Kevin Henkes

One of my favorite children’s authors is Kevin Henkes. Henkes is well known for writing and illustrating numerous great picture books. Some of my most loved picture book characters are from his “mouse books” including: Lilly, Wimberley, Chester, and Chrysanthemum. If you haven’t heard of these famous mice, you simply must check them out!

Henkes has also written many other picture books (besides his mouse books), and also has several novels worth checking out.

Henkes got his start when he was young, and is a great inspiration to me. His books are a great start to any collection and certainly deserve a special place on your bookshelf!
